The Jessica S. Lin Award for Clinical Excellence by a Resident Physician is presented by the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) to a resident physician in recognition of outstanding contributions to patient care.
North Side Family Medicine resident, Sushania Pryce MD, was chosen for her passion for underserved patient populations, growth mindset, and leadership qualities. She displays excellence in professionalism, teaching, leadership, passion for patient care and is actively engaged in her community. Dr. Pryce has been invaluable to her program and community as an excellent leader and educator.
As part of the inaugural intern class of a new Family Medicine residency, she played an essential role in building the program from the ground up. She was selected by her peers to act as a resident representative to share resident experiences in a newly established system. Though there were several challenges through this first year of residency, Dr. Pryce embraced the leadership role with grace and professionalism and held her program together while personally excelling on all of her rotations. She has been recognized by her peers and program leadership as a fantastic teacher who fosters an environment where residents feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas.
Dr. Pryce not only professes to have interests in the community she serves but also plays an active role in investing in our clinic community as well. The North Side residency program is centered around community medicine principles and community engagement. She has demonstrated a strong desire to immerse herself in her communities and understands the impact and responsibility that physicians have within the communities they serve.
Sushania received a plaque and $500 at the recent Chief Resident Symposium and will have her name added to the Lin Award plaque located on the 2nd floor of Froedtert Hospital..
